Cuvaj se is especially excited to partner with local communities to provide creative writing enrichment programs for refugee and migrant students and adults. Iowa has a long history of welcoming refugees and we want to be a part of that story. We offer fun workshops in creative writing and ESL, combining the healing work of story-telling and the arts with learning English. Classes are available for adult learners as well as after-school enrichment activities for K-12 youth.

Des Moines, Iowa is home to a thriving refugee community with folks from Bosnia, Laos, Sudan, and Burma. They enrich our community and make our city stronger and more vibrant.
